Board of Trustees
Allysia Guy (Trustee); MD RDMS, is a mother of three and a practicing board certified Emergency Medicine physician. She moved to the North Country shortly after the birth of her first child after serving as Director of Emergency Ultrasound at Lincoln Hospital in NYC and at Brown University in Providence, RI. She now serves as an assistant Director of EMS in Wolfeboro NH and owns a naturopathic candy company. When she is not in the ED she spends time on her family farm, raising sheep, growing food, snowboarding and atv-ing.
Dana Holcomb (Trustee) is a mother of four, photographer, small business owner, and vice president of the Littleton Studio School Board. Dana, along with her family, made the move to New Hampshire in 2018 and quickly found her heart captured by the beauty and people of the North Country. Beyond her many roles, Dana enjoys quality time outdoors with her kids and husband, soaking in the natural beauty of the White Mountains. Her interests extend to quilting, painting, crafting, reading, music and the arts.
Stacey Zemla (Trustee, Vice Chair), BFA Graphic Design, MAT, is a mother, an artist, a dreamer and a native of Lancaster, who recently returned home to raise her family and is happy to call Coös county her home. Before settling down in her hometown, she studied fine arts at the Maine College of Art, where she earned her BFA in Graphic Design. After college, Stacey served as an AmeriCorps volunteer with University of VT extension, where she spent two years designing and implementing science and technology curriculum for youth-at-risk in the Northeast Kingdom of VT. In 2005, Stacey enrolled in the Visual Arts Education program at Tufts University, where she earned her MAT and fulfilled her practicum in Boston area schools. Over the years, Stacey has taught and worked with youth in a range of ages and a variety of contexts: she’s been a coach, a counselor, a teacher, a nanny, and an instructor. Stacey holds certifications to teach art in both MA and NH and currently teaches at Lancaster Elementary School.
Tom Schram (Trustee, Chair), Ph.D. Education, has worked in the field of education for over forty years, including directorship of outdoor/wilderness programs; teaching in rural elementary schools; and teaching, research, and administration at the university level. He retired in 2022 after 32 years as a professor at the University of New Hampshire where he also served as Director of Educator Preparation and, most recently, helped to coordinate the Teacher Residency for Rural Education (TRRE) Program, recruiting and preparing new teachers for schools throughout the North Country. Tom began his professional career at a rural elementary school in Wyoming where he taught grades 4-6 in a two-teacher school with his wife, who taught grades K-3. Prior to that, they served as directors for an outdoor education center and wilderness ranch-camp for children in the mountains bordering Yellowstone National Park. An avid reader and writer, Tom enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and camping.
Zeanny Egea (Trustee); originally from Costa Rica, has made her home in New Hampshire’s North Country, where she has grown to appreciate both the community and the beautiful nature, and is slowly learning to enjoy the cold weather too! She graduated from law school in Costa Rica, but after moving to the United States decided to follow a new path and has since dedicated her career to education. Zeannyholds a Master’s degree in Health Education and Promotion and serves as a Health and Well-Being Educator and Program Manager with UNH Extension. In this role, she leads nutrition education, develops systems that support healthier communities, and works to expand health and well-being programs across New Hampshire. Passionate about hands-on learning, she previously served on the Sunnybrook Montessori School Board and is now honored to join the Heartwood Public Charter School Board. A proud mother of four, Zeanny enjoys painting, knitting, cooking, and reading in her free time.
Laura Gagnon (Trustee); BS in Biology with a focus in both Health and Environmental Sciences, holds a graduate degree in Cytopathology, CT (ASP), and spent much of her career in the hospital setting before shifting gears after having children to work in real estate. She and her husband are both proud NH natives who, along with their two children, spend much of their spare time on their regenerative farm, where they raise beef cows. Laura is an active 4-H volunteer and is deeply involved in the Heartwood community, working directly with students, supporting staff, as well as serving on the Fundraising Committee.
